Perfect Weddings on the Mendocino Coast
Switzer Farm is the perfect place for your wedding, elopement, reunion, or other special event. Your guests and you will enjoy uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean, its rocky sea stacks, and crashing waves from our farmhouse, garden cottage, veranda, gardens, lawns, meadow, headlands-really everywhere on the property. At the same time you’ll enjoy complete privacy from the rest of the world. The entire Switzer Farm property is west of the only roadway, highway 1 in northern California. Once you arrive, there will be nothing between you and the ocean but our very private meadow and oceanfront headlands.
Our rental includes the entire 22-acre venue for 3 days and 3 nights to use as you see fit. This includes 3 nights' lodging for 20+ guests in our historically restored 1884 farmhouse and garden cottage, depending on the demographics of your group. It also includes any number of fantastic sites on our property for all your wedding or other events throughout the weekend.
For example, our ocean-view south lawn, which has been electrified and plumbed to allow your caterers and bartender to work easily, is a great spot for a big catered dinner and dancing. The ocean-view veranda and gardens surrounding the farmhouse are great spots for a ceremony, cocktail party or rehearsal dinner. For those who want a dramatic backdrop, our oceanfront meadow and blufftop are also great spots for a ceremony. Likewise, our historic barns present a wonderful scenic backdrop for photos and activities. (Sorry, but barn interiors aren’t available for use at events.)

Pricing
Our venue’s available for weddings and other events consisting of up to 99 guests, for $23,000 in 2026 and for $25,000 in 2027 and 2028. This is a 3 day/night rental, which includes use of the entire 22-acre property and lodging for 20+ guests in our restored farmhouse and garden cottage. Liability insurance is required.
On-Site Manager
The Switzer Farm property manager is Dolores McBroom who knows everything there’s to know about our venue and how everything works. She can address any issues that arise and will be available to you throughout your wedding or other event weekend in order to assist you, your wedding planner, and your vendors to ensure that everything’s perfect for your special occasion.
